Born and raised in Colombia, Lorena is a certified ELE teacher specializing in teaching Spanish as a foreign language both online and in person. With over 10 years of experience teaching Spanish in Canada, and a background as a biologist and program educator, Lorena brings creativity, warmth, and real-world experience to every lesson.

After immersing myself in the culture and developing my own learning techniques, I became fluent in just 18 months. This experience inspired me to create a learning system that combines cultural context, practical usage, and an immersive approach.
Lorena believes language learning should feel engaging, meaningful, and personalized. She creates customized, interactive lessons tailored to each student's goals, interests, and learning style. I recently visited Costa Rica after a year of weekend lessons, and I was able to successfully use my Spanish at restaurants, shops, and at the airport. I can independently construct sentences, word-find, and read on a beginner level. We continue to practice together for my own benefit, as I live in Colorado where Spanish is common. It has been a great experience, and I look forward to our ongoing lessons!
